Poca High School's chapter of the National Honor Society held a virtual ceremony to induct new members Friday evening.  The ceremony was conducted remotely via Microsoft Teams, and hosted by Chapter President, Jay Cook.  Additional remarks were contributed from NHS Sponsor Ms. Lauren Jannotta, NHS Vice President Hannah Runions, Secretary Zoie Feldhaus, and Treasurer Brooke Godbey.  Current and new members, along with family members and faculty were invited to join the livestream of the event.  Family members who were unable to view the live event may view the recording here

National Honor Society membership is not achieved solely by earning good grades and submitting a membership form.  NHS is founded on the principles of Character, Scholarship, Leadership, and Service, and perspective members are evaluated in all four areas when being considered for membership.  Poca's chapter prides itself on the member selection process and maintaining the highest standards and expectations for its members.  Only 5-10% of the student body are admitted to NHS, and members must maintain qualifications and participate in both chapter and individual service projects.

Congratulations to the following new members of Poca High School's chapter of the National Honor Society:  Clarissa Ord, Allison Paul, Haley Shue, Logan Stone, Shane Summers, Lexus Blankenship, Courtney Graley, Savannah Harding, Madelyn Harrison, Reed Houston, Quentin Ibarra, Gabriel Keech, Christian LeRose, Danielle Mannina, Marcus Matthews, Isaac McKneely, Nathan McVey, Hermilee Myers, Daniel Priddy, Tanner Samples, Tabitha Snyder, Arianna Thames, Ashley Thompson, Sidney Walls, Lawrence Westfall, and Kenzie Winter.
